This one was inspired by seeing a reflection of a poster I had. It was weird, but to me the reflection made the person in the picture look very sad, though the original poster didn't look that way.

The face in the mirror never lies
The reflection shows the tears
Everything there is naked
You cannot hide your pain and fears
There is no smile when your eyes meet
Your heart cannot handle the honesty
Reflections in glass, and reflections in water
They show you what you don't want to see
She tells everyone that she's doing fine
Her face is strong and her stance is proud
Still the people they are so kind
The kindness makes her want to scream outloud
He left her for a crazy dream
And a young woman half his age
She tries to convince herself it's true
And that she doesn't miss their happy days
Then she catches a glimpse of her face in the mirror
Her pride cannot hide her pain
She realized then that she lied
And his memory is driving her insane
The shock of death hit her hard
She took it silently, with no tears
Her face was calm with no trace of pain
Even in the face of the upcoming unhappy years
Her friends believed that she took it well
They never heard her complain
Not one tear fell down the pretty pale cheek
Not even when the funeral came
She seemed so cold, like she didn't care
Even her best friend didn't know
Until she just happened to catch
The widow's reflection in the window
He sits with his friends in the retirement home
He plays cards and laughs and sings
He is known as the life of the party
But it's gone, the hope that each new day brings
His children don't come to see him like they used to
Still he puts on a happy face
On the outside, there is a smile
As he flirts with a woman named Grace
But there is another face on the inside
That he sees as he bends over the wash basin
It's tired and lonely and old, and he realizes
He's near the end and all his time has been wasted
